Having their own website is a massive plus in terms of music promotion.
http://cityandcolour.ca/
The site from a first glance is very colourful and vibrant reflecting perhaps on the band image: different and quirky.
A direct link to I-Tunes persuades the audience to buy the artists track straight-away online, a very clever form of promotion.
On this site, fans are able to find tour-dates in oder to book tickets quickly before 'it's too late'
The list goes on.... Providing a precise document with dates and locations help to encourage people to pay and see the band. Not only does the website include videos and tour pictures, but it also has it's very own 'store' appealing to countries not just in England!
The fact the band's merchandise can be purchased from all over the world makes the artists name stand out and attract the attention of a much higher population. A simple T-shirt costs £20, with this profit and the bands logo being presented - the band will become very popular and wealthy.
The band also appears on the website:
Here the band is on full display offering fans and an audience to read an overview of the band and it's successes:
"City and Colour is a band by former Alexisonfire guitarist and vocalist Dallas Green, started in 2004. The project title derives its name from Dallas’ own: Dallas, a city, and Green, a colour. Dallas is praised by critics and fans alike for his strong, clear vocals and his guitar playing skills. To date, Dallas has released two EPs, “The Death of Me” (2004) and “Missing” (2005), as well as three full length albums, “Sometimes” (2005), “Bring Me Your Love” (2008) and “Little Hell” (2011)Dallas Green also appears on Neverending White Lights’ collaborative album Act 1: Goodbye Friends of the Heavenly Bodies (which was released in 2005) , contributing vocals to the song “The Grace”. Recently he has started playing in an acoustic set with his Alexisonfire bandmate, Wade Macneil."
