Research: Genre: MUSIC VIDEOS BREAKING THE RULES!

Breaking the rules of the typical traditions of music video productions requires some serious courage. Unconventional videos either do amazingly well or don't get noticed at all. My First Video: DEV'S video - Booty Bounce offers a whole new concept with no narrative. The clever camera work makes this video a success. Her outfit changes along the line of clones in time with the music looks very impressive and using filters to show a close-up of her face as well as mid-shots makes the video exciting. In my music video example below: Shakira- Whenever Wherever, she wears the same outfit throughout which can be quite boring as the audience doesn't get to see the artists style and quirky personality through the use of costume. Second Video: "Ice cream" by the 'New Young Pony Club offers colourful and interesting imagery using a 'pop art' effect with the idea of 'sweet treats' such as sweets and cakes as a background to attract attention. (especially those with a sweet tooth!)This ideal is unconventional as it has a more cartoony effect rather than the big 'studio' glam effect. Third Video: Rhianna's song: 'Te Amo' isn't unconventional as the idea of sexuality has been done before. However the song is controversial showing two girls as lovers. Controversy is what Rhianna is famous for. She challenges the 'norm' and it is because of this why i feel she is so popular today.
