Hello, my name is Abigail Smith,
this year for my media coursework i have decided on branding an artist steering away from producing a film as i feel creating a music video has more of a chance for me to adopt different techniques,
From the beginning my ideas were tied- i didn't know whether i wanted my artist to appear sweet and soft or bad and violent
1) The first idea (sweet and soft) i thought of the track: 'When you were young' by the killers: having a dramatic beginning and an ending ending in the two protagonists falling in love
However, i felt this idea was too typical, i wanted a different style i knew most of the groups in my year were set on doing something similar so i decided on idea 2- bad and dangerous. This risky artist view i felt would appeal to people who find music videos these days too tedious- i.e almost everyone. The song i have chosen in the end is: "Sleigh bells" by Infinity Guitars
A very rocky appeal with a touch of pop to appeal to both a mainstream and an niche audience, this music video i think mirrors a very rebellious artist who is angry about something- a feeling everyone gets, helping the audience to relate.
