I like the 'pop arty' effect of Franz Ferdinand's CD cover. It's style looks imaginative and vibrant which reflects on the artists tracks within the CD. A person looking at this CD cover would know exactly who the artist is and will get a feel of the type of music associated and the quirky brand image of 'Franz Ferdinand'
Ke$ha's brand image is that of a 'bad girl' and a 'party animal'. I like the frosted effect of the picture as it contrasts her eyes and draws attention to it's audience. Because the artist is pictured so close-up people can immediately recognise the artist straight away and result in buying the CD.
I don't really like Mcfly. I think I've only liked one of their songs, HOWEVER this album cover actually represents feelings i like: fun and energy! Even though i dislike the band i would probably stop to look at what the band are doing and ask myself 'why are they under-water?' I think it's these types of album covers that sell!
This album cover looks dark and sexy. The theme of my video also has these connotations. I can learn a lot from album covers like these. Simple, black and white catches your eye in a very surprising way, sometimes we don't want the hassle of a confusing and un-clear CD cover. Fans will immediately see the face of Rhianna and buy the track.
